The reviews I have seen on this book are a bit harsh. I think this book provides a wonderful scope of information that I have found very useful despite my already owning a Russian tortoise for almost four years now. This book would be invaluable to anyone about to buy a new Russian tortoise and to anyone already owning one and just wanting a useful book on the subject in the house. Really great pictures and good information on a broad range of care and other general information. I found this book useful an entertaining. Attached photo of my girl Agnes just for fun.
I read the whole book in two day, I like to read so it did'nt take me very long. The book had alot of interesting facts and cool pictures and answered all the questions I had. I talks about all the things you need to know and touches on some information that has to do with other tortoises like the hermanni, greek and egyptian tortoise because these tortoises are alot like the russian. I think this book is a good read for any person wanting info on these animals. But also reading other books that have to do with this topic would be a good idea besides this one, everyone has their own opinion on how to raise these creature and should seek out as much information as possible and this book suggests that too!

VERY INFORMATIVE
I bought this book for my daughter who will be getting a Russian tortoise for her birthday this year (yes, she is a big Elementary fan:). The book is incredibly informative and it was in pretty good shape when it arrived.The layout is colorful and easy to read. I would recommend this book for anyone who is interested in Russian tortoises.
