Love sudoku and this one definitely gave me a challenge. At some points I'd just put it down and give my brain a break and then come back to it with a fresh pair of eyes. I always loved a challenge when playing this and although the start of it was easy, it was also very enjoyable. I enjoyed the ride from the very simple solutions to the more complex and difficult ones in the middle and towards the end.

I’ve bought 5 or 6 of these sudoku books. Love the spiral binding.

A daily adventure/slice of life story set in an underground fantasy kingdom. Elorion, the main character (MC), and some other humans are kidnapped and given the chance to live out their gamer dreams by getting magic and leveling up in a RPG world. Only their new boss doesn’t really care if they live or die as long as she can feed off their excess magical energy. The MC goes through a series of events that constantly push him and the other humans to become more powerful or die.The highlight of the story is definitely traveling with the MC as he gains levels, new blue magic abilities, and spells. He’s a min/maxer after my own heart and I thoroughly enjoyed his internal discussions about how to best build his character. He’s smart and gathers plenty of data to figure out the system before committing stat points or energy to leveling skills. The character build theorizing was detailed and fun.There’s also plenty of action and adventure to be had as the MC fights monster after monster grind skill and magic levels. Towards the end there’s even a little town building and crafting.One thing you won’t find here, is a real plot. It’s just not that kind of story. Yes, there are small story arcs and character development but there’s no overall big coherent plot for the novel other than the vague goals ‘we have to escape’ and ‘we have to get stronger’. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, it just is. That’s what a slice of life/daily adventure story is. It’s a lot like a TV or animated series like Dragonball Z. A series of smaller stories and events that gradually increase in difficulty that challenge the characters to get stronger. Don’t expect more and you won’t be disappointed. I know I wasn’t. I had a blast reading the story.*note: I totally agree with the story that bacon and ranch are the highlights of a good life.Score: 7 out of 10

I really liked this book, it was a fun read. The story follows Elorion a high school age kid that gets kidnapped away to a underworld type LitRPG world where he is branded along with others and forced to "level up or die" so that the brand he got can transfer energy to the succubus that branded him. The MC is a blue mage and a light mage, meaning that he can gain abilities from monsters that he either sees or had used on him and that he also can heal. As protagonists go he is a bit OP but the author owns that aspect of the character and I really enjoyed Elorion as the hero of the story. One of the things I especially liked was that author refrained from using teenage angst as a plot device/tool for character development that seem to be so common to protagonists in YA novels.From a technical standpoint the writing and editing were average it is the amount of fun I found the story to be that elevated this book to 4 stars instead of 3. It was easy reading that took me only an afternoon to finish. The biggest editing mistakes IMO were wrong or missing words there were some finicky things like a couple of affect vs. effect level things but one has to really be looking to find them. The last issue I had with the plot in general is that it lacked a MacGuffin there were some vague goals like survival and escape but no larger unifying plot device; it is likely that this will resolve itself in time and Elorion will find a "larger than himself" cause that will become a centralized theme in later installments.Bottom line; I liked enough to buy the book after I read it for free and look forward to the next one.

This book is like grinding levels: you keep churning through out hoping it gets better but never really takes off. The main character abandons his comrades in order to get stronger and protect them, rather than skiing the obvious and working as a team to increase everyone's stats he just Lone Wolf's it in an attempt to make himself the de facto hero. Further, the written PoV is that of the main character telling the story directly to the reader but it is never established why he would do this. Is this a memoirs? Why does he need to keep bringing up Ranch Dressing or constantly remind us he can't dance?

This book was just ok, I did enjoy the story line. But there was just something missing, I'm not sure what. I will buy the next one just to see if it gets better.

Logical elements of power leveling and skill uses makes this an enjoyable read. This book took most of one sitting to finish.There are elements of city/dungeon building hinted at for the future, as well as plenty of additional quests to undertake and places to explore.I'm eagerly waiting for the next book in the series.

Cons: HP and other point based resources aren't tracked completely.Pros: This is a decent page turner. World building and character development are catchy, even if they only explore one dungeon the entire book, I still got a good idea of the outside world.

An easy enjoyable read about a group of kidnaped gamers, taken to the Underworld where they must increase their power/level to survive.As this occurs they all learn and adapt to the area. Good book, will be looking out for the second.

Fun read for sure. My main thing is using such high numbers makes everything sound over powered and the MC definitely was all through the Labyrinth. I can't say he ever really struggled. Just panicked here and there over stuff that wouldn't cause panic in adults I feel like. Yet killing tons of monsters and seeing death each day that would give veterans PTSD he didn't get phased by at all. Kinda had me like eh? Oh well. I want to see him grow but maybe in a toned down fashion next book.

First of all, I love a strong female heroine who defies convention which is Lily through and through. She was too funny and I never knew what to expect from her, because she simply doesn't care. I also loved her independence and strong will, which always make for an interesting character.It honestly took me a while to warm up to Alex who was very quiet in the beginning and seemed to be brooding most of the time. Then there was his former fiancee who he seemed obsessed with, which I admit got on my nerves a bit. But when he finally thaws out and gets over his past, his newfound love for Lily was beautiful to behold. Alex even sticks by her side and helps her when he discovers Lily's not so perfect past. In the end a bold heroine and a strong hero made this an historical romance not to be missed. The majority of the romance books that I read are contemporary and paranormal romances. However, I wanted to read about a hero who is jealous and possessive but stopped sleeping with OW after meeting the heroine and I was running out of books to read that had a hero like that as I simply read too much. Also I wanted to story to including hot sexy times. So I decided to read an historical romance and since I read a book by this author previously and it got good reviews this seem liked a good one to read. I was not sorry that I read this book as Alex was the type of hero that I was looking for with the added bonus that he was not an manhoe before meeting Lily. In addition the book had the right number of hot smex scenes, not too many as to overwhelm the story but enough to satisfy me. Also it kept my attention. At no time was I bored. So it was worth the $5.99 price tag.I am disappointed that the author made Derek, who I like in this story and in the hero in the next book, such a manhoe including after he meets the heroine Sarah. He has smex with married women and prostitutes. Based on reviews there are detailed scenes with Derek and his mistress and then after he has smex with the heroine Sarah he has smex with a prostitute. So not for me and so sad that the author thought it was a good thing to have a hero do those things, especially while the heroine was celibate. I don't care how "tortured" the author claims that Derek is, he does not make what he did acceptable to me.However I am looking forward to reading some of the author's other books that based on the reviews that I read, have heroes like Alex as opposed to Derek.

Lily Lawson is beautiful, wild, reckless, and the toast of the Ton. She's been ostracized by her family for her behavior, but when she finds that her younger, gentle sister Penny is to marry in a loveless marriage, Lily agrees to help Penny's real love and stop the wedding. However, Alex, Earl of Raiford, is determined to marry Penny. He wants a loveless, bland marriage because of the death of his earlier fiancee. Lily makes him crazy with her exploits, but she also brings him out of the shell he's been living in. But Lily has her own issues; she fears and dislikes most men, and she's being blackmailed by a man who holds her young daughter.This is a great story. I read the second book in the series first a while ago, so I knew that Lily and Alex got together, but the how of it kept me riveted. Lisa Kleypas is a wonderful romance writer. She made the transformation of both Alex and Lily totally believable, and their love was truly evident in all their actions. Alex knows how to calm Lily without controlling her, and Lily finds trust in a man for maybe the first time in her life. I read the book all in one go; it's that kind of book. Wonderful story.

The first third of this book did not much inspire me to continue reading--an inexplicably fey heroine, an inexplicably dour hero, and an inexplicably rapey sexual attraction between them rather put me off. But things began to improve as soon as (and I know how ridiculous this sounds) Lily conks Raiford on the head and ties him to her bed. Yes, matters actually become LESS inexplicable at this point. Lily's search for her dauhter moves to center stage and drives the action and drama from this point on. The sex continues to be a bit morally ambiguous, but I had expected that from an earlier book of Kleypas'. Ultimately, I am pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed Then Came You.

This book captivated me from start to finish. Lily was a very strong woman and Alex was her match. Two passionate souls who hated each other on sight, yet could not hold back their attraction as the story progressed. Lily did everything under her power to free her sister from a marriage to Alex and help her run off with her true love. Alex swore to see Lily in hell before he’d release her sister . The ensuing clash of wills set this story up for a feisty read. Lisa Kleypas is so talented in keeping her reader enthralled. This book will not disappoint.

Sometimes I forget how wonderful it is to read a book by Lisa Kleypas. Nothing's better than staying up all night to read one of her books. This one is no exception. Lilly leads a reckless life. When she arranged for her sister to elope with the man she really loves, Lilly is left to face the rath of her sister's fiancee. But his reaction is not what she expected and his tenderness least of all. If only she could tell him her secret and not lose him. Definitely a recommended read.❤️

The only good SAS book that I found and follow to understand from A-Z. The most important thing to learn SAS is examples and to do be able to download the data for these examples (which is available free online for this book and very organized). I wish this author cover more deep topics in SAS (like advance version of the book) because he's very good in dissecting SAS code.
