Loving historical romance and not minding time travel, I bought both books in this series. I just read both. I don't mind typos nor a scholar's lack of historical detail, but book 1 puts us in Scotland of 1304 with a second brother named Alistair and book 2 is set 100 or so years later with no second brother and a cousin named Ian. The characters keep talking about going back to the 21st century, but it never seems to matter thay have no clue how to get back. The characters except for Ian and where is poor Alistair are the same. Both Maeve and Cora's dream sequences are vile and gory in their graphic descriptions, but the rest of it which deals withthe witch hunts and the inquisition are like a stand up comedy routine. The romance is so very shallow, the love scenes were a disconnect with the lack of feeling between the characters - there seemed more deep feelings between the horse and the heroine.I would like to believe there is a hell where the tormentors of the innocent meet the fate they delivered upon their victimswhether in the name of God or their own deviant beliefs, but here it is like a game to outwit the inquisitors.I cannot reconcile myself to the preachy approach to a horrific period in history.Try Jessi Gage "Choosing the Highlander" for a more heartfelt take on time travel witchcraft scenario.I gave three stars because there is writing talent albeit unfortunately not enough to render the plot palatable to me.

The story premise is what had sold the book because I love reading about midwives and healers, but this book just fell short for me. The author did have a good voice for the modern character, but that was all I enjoyed. The historical details felt spare, the historical characters' speech was too modern and not Scotish sounding, and there was barely any romance. I got 30% in and the hero and heroine barely had 2 minor scenes and 1 scene that could have been seen as the 'start' of the romantic tension, but then went nowhere.Doesn't make for a good time travel romance in my opinion.

Loved this! Just read the first book last week. Finished this second one today(spent the day reading). Highly recommend both . Cannot wait for a possible third to see how the Clan is faring.

This is awesome! To live in current times and then wake up in midieval times. Talk about culture shock! And then there is no such thing as politically correct! If you love time travel then this is the book for you! No spoilers. Just great story!

Love time travel and Highlanders. Throughly enjoyed the story and the characters, they were neatly developed. Historical content was wonderfully woven into the story. The HEA was the reward for a well written book.

Couldn’t open it.

Love the way the stories connect to one as another. Hopefully will see more in this series by Rebecca. Highly recommend this series.

The first book was great. The second book was good but not much different then the first. I would recommend the first and second books.
