Introduction:Hands down, no questions asked- I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan. I know a ton about the Harry Potter franchise, and it is by far my favorite book series (and that really is saying a lot because I have read a ton of books!) One of my favorite things about the Harry Potter universe is the Harry Potter Conventions that usually have some kind of trivia contest. I always do pretty well, but the one thing that I stink at is spells. Okay, I know all of the basic spells, but for some reason I can never figure out how some people know just so many. I wanted a way to get better. So, when I received an 25$ Amazon gift card, I went strait to the computer to look for a spell book. As I looked through I found some that seemed pretty good, but there was always a bunch of bombed reviews saying that the product was a "piece of trash" or, "totally worthless". When I found that this book had some relatively good reviews, I thought, "What the heck, I'll just buy it."Quality:Okay, so the book came pretty fast if two days is good enough for you (it sure was for me!) I freaked out when the package arrived, and tore into it as fast as my fingers could rip. I was a little bit disappointed that it was only a paperback book. I was also sad to see that the book was self published, which I thought would mean it would have low quality. Man, I was so wrong. When I opened it up it was an amazing sight! The book had incredible illustrations on nearly every page, showing how to cast each spell. Even better, the font made it look as though it was written with a quill- which makes it seem way more like it's an actual spell book. There are even little guides on each spell on how to properly say them.Length:You would probably expect a spell book to be like a thousand pages long, but let me warn you, this book is only about two-hundred pages. But, there are about three spells per page, so that's a lot of spells if you think about it. The spells are all listed in alphabetical order, and there are even some spells mentioned in the back of the book that nobody knows the incantation to! That's pretty cool if you ask me. So all in all, my estimation is that there are about six-hundred spells in the book.Authenticity:Okay, Michael K. Gonzalez really worked hard to write this book. It includes spells from every single official Harry Potter source out there, including: All the books, the new book, "Harry Potter and the Cured Child" spells, "Fantastic Beast and Were to Find Them" spells, all the spells from the movies, all the spells from the "LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4" video game, every spell from "LEGO Harry Potter years 5-7" video game, every spell from every single other Harry Potter video game in the world (even the hard to find ones,) every spell from some weird Harry Potter trading card game, every spell ever mentioned on Pottermore, and finally every spell from "Quidditch Through the Ages".Overall:An amazing book that every Potter fan should have!
This is probably the best HP spellbook you can find to have a fun read but there are things in it that disappointed me.There are typos like: saying and defining a spell twice(Impervius), the enunciation and definition of a previous spell used for a future spell(incarcerous has "impervius'" enunciation and definition, and a spell has the wrong definition(immobulus).Also there are multiple spells that don't even have the definition for and just say the name or incantation......I thought the point of this was to know everything about what is being displayed.Anyways, it's good for the most part but there were some things that disappointed me and kinda made me wish I didn't buy this.
Been looking for a Harry Potter spell book for a while. I'm so glad I came across this gem! Greatly made book with lots of fun endless spells. 🔮
I thought this book was great, but I expected a hardcover. Paperback was okay. It has all the spells, and I really like it. Although about a third of the book was jinxes. Like the Hermione Granger jinx, where boils would spell SNEAK on your forehead. But how do you actually cast a jinx? If you know, please answer. I am 10 and I thought it was good. Hoped this helped! :D
This book is better than I expected! Spells are organized alphabetically and some include drawings of how to move your wand. The end of the book has a few blank pages to add your own spells.
My son (10 years old) loved the spell training book... he particularly liked the wand motions and extensive number and type of spells... numerous hours of Harry Potter make believe roll play! He liked it so much that he got his buddy a copy for his 11th birthday because he is a big Harry Potter fan as well. They enjoy casting spells (aka duels) on each other.
My Harry Potter obsessed son LOVES this book. He has spent hours learning the spells and practicing them. It has turned into a game at home where he places spells and people "fall" under the spells. It's a lot of fun and it was very unexpected.
This is truly a must have for Harry Potter fans! It not only lists spells, hexes and jinxs, but there are also the wand movement for some. For certain spells, hexes, and jinxs is who invented them. The pronunciation of each is also included and the book has the feeling as well as look of an older textbook.
