I like that each stitch shows the diagram as well as the written instructions. Sometimes I do not understand the written instruction or just read them wrong and the diagram helps to make it easier to follow. The photographs are colorful and give you a good idea of what your project will look like. The chapters are grouped well making things easy to find even when you are not sure what you want exactly. I would recommend this book to anyone who crochets from beginner to advanced.

The stitch patterns for the most part are fairly basic, but I did find at least half that I haven't used. I have 3 different stitch pattern books that I use to create my own designs and patterns, and this is a great addition. My favorite part of the book is the pictures. They are close enough for you to see detail and can easily tell if you are doing it correctly. The directions are very clear and even beginners without any knowledge of any stitches other than ch, sc, and dc will have a very easy time picking up skill.

I love this book! Just purchased my third copy of this book. 2 of my previous copies have gone missing after I showed other family members who crochet. Very suspicious. I love that it teaches how to do stitches and how many chains you would need to start with. I love the pictures and diagrams. It's great for beginners to advanced!!

Was hoping for more innovative stitches. Not so much, or at least not from what I could see without working up stitch samples of my own.Also the swatches are too small scale to really tell similar ones apart, let alone get an idea about their structure.Instructional parts of this book are very good and I like the spiral binding.But in the end this wasn't the stitch book for me, so I returned it.

I really liked this book because it gives you the hook sizes in both European and United States. I had figured it out by looking at mine and printed out a page to keep handy. I like it in the book which I keep right by my crochet projects. My daughter loves the many lovely different patterns so you can make up your own afghan and then add the perfect edge to it. This book is a MUST for all crocheters - beginners and experts. I've been crocheting for 47 years and the book is great!!

This is the book that taught me how to crochet and everything else I needed to know. It lays out all of the basic stitches and how to read patterns. I find myself going back to it every time I start a new project, and it has a TON of different stitch patterns in the 2nd half. If you want to learn how to crochet, GET THIS and then supplement with some youtube videos. If you are a veteran crochet-er, the patterns would probably be the main benefit for you.

This is my absolute favorite crochet book. It's essential & is my "go to" when patterns fail to accurately explain a stitch. It has everything & the diagrams along with the written explanation help so much. The pictures are very clear to see the finished product...and grouping the styles by color was clever. I learned to crochet with this book. It's all you need.

Being a beginner at crocheting, I took one look through this book and can tell it is holding a storehouse of instruction for me that I need now and will need later as well. Even though I have purchased other books on crochet, I think The Crochet Stitch Bible will be my "go-to" book over the years as I learn and build stitch upon stitch. The photos of actual crochet swatches are numerous and illustrated graphics are easy to understand.

What was the one thing we hadn't considered living deep in the backwoods? Emergency medicine. Our farm is at the top of a mountain and we fall all the time. Most falls result in bruises and nothing more. Twice, however, my falls have required stitches. What if... We often ask ourselves what if questions. What if my husband hadn't been there and I couldn't drive myself to the emergency room? What if he were home and the roads were blocked, which happens in the boonies all the time--especially after a major thunderstorm or a tropical storm/hurricane? We bought The Survival Medicine Handbook both on Kindle (for tips on what to stock up on and to educate ourselves) and the printed version for emergencies. I can't recommend this book more highly. It is really jam packed with extremely valuable information--both for the emergency and for preparing ourselves in the event of one. Every family should have one. Whether you live in the city, the suburbs or in the backwoods, you don't know when access to a hospital will be hindered. It's truly a must have!

There is a lot to wade through in this book. The author, a physician, clearly states that a lot in his book should be done if there is no disaster and hospitals with medical personnel are NOT available. Doing otherwise many medical procedures in his book is clearly practicing medicine without a license. When disaster of some kind strikes - earthquake, violent riots and lots of firearms used, perhaps an EMP strike with a missile from a freighter, whatever the extreme situation - then this book will be invaluable. He also gives lists of supplies to have in a survival medic kit and to start patiently putting together and acquiring NOW and get more medical training if possible. He also emphasizes developing a positive attitude about disasters now, a "gloom and bloom" mindset, not a negative "gloom and doom." The Achilles heel of the the U.S. is over reliance on computers to do everything. Once some malevolent hacker or country that hates the U.S. finds a way to shut down the electrical power from the Mississippi River to the East Coast or worse, and does it, using this book to be prepared for it will pay off well.

The love this book - (and as the author admits) this is a huge book of everything you need to consider and prepare for; IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE A CAMP OR COMMUNITY MEDIC. It is a great planning guide with lots of considerations. This is not a how to practice or administer survival medicine. You will need a much more comprehensive book for that. This a a guide for all you to have a list of all the things you have to be ready for. I have to redo a lot of what I had and have to add a bunch of things I had not considered before. Great guidebook!

If you need to develop a basic understanding of first aid and survival medicine, especially some tricks on what to stock and what to grow, this is a good book for you!If you are already know basic first aid, you are pretty far down the road. The book is still useful, because of the tips the nurse gives about gardens and medical herbs. Further the Doc give you some pre-made letters for your Doctor to view. These are helpful in winning over a Doctors confidence in allowing you to stockpile critical meds, like diabetic sugar control, blood pressure control, etc.Lastly there is a section on recommended books and research that will be really helpful for advancing your knowledge.All in all, it was good to read the words of a Doctor and Nurse team that get it. They don't think anybody is a kook for preparing for a societal meltdown. They understand that within 48 hours, disease will be the greatest killer of people and build the book with that in mind.One more "neat" thing is the Doctor maintains a website where he demonstrates many of the techniques that will be useful in survival medicine.Four stars instead of five because I thought the book would have a bit more detailed information. But now I realize I should have read the title more clearly. It does say, "Survival Medicine Handbook," not "Doctorate Degree in Surgery." My bad.This IS the place to start if you have no real knowledge of medicine. Ordering this book is recommended just for its resources on purchasing much needed supplies from "unusual sources."You won't be sorry you bought it in any case.Jeff

Just buy the book, I have too many slow learners to educate already.

This is pretty technical. I have taken my share of math and physics classes at the collegiate level, and I can say that this has given me enough of an understanding to get the gist of the topics in this book. Not enough to fully understand everything, but enough to see that free energy is scientifically valid, and has been known about for decades. The concepts in this book are very interesting, indeed. What we do not learn in math and physics in school is as important as what we do. Too bad that only the Secret Governments of the world get to actually use this knowledge beyond a theoretical understanding. We can only hope that the time is ripe for that to change.

I have had other copies of this book. It is one of my favorites out of hundreds of books that I have chosen for myself over the years. I like to find other people who might share this interest and give them copies as gifts. I have read it several times and hand printed much of the extensive bibliographies into a pocket notebook. "Tapping the Zero-Point Energy" is a book which I am able to read easily. It is semitechnical. Other people have more difficulty with it. It is mind expanding reading. It will come as a surprise to some people or many people that the author can make such a good case for possibilities which are like "future magic".

Excellent book, well written and lots of food for thought.

This is an important subject & needed book but not well written. Having already grappled with much of the material in other books I found the book tedious & repetitive. The Biblically oriented chapter did not sit well with my own personal cosmology & I felt it shouldn’t have been included.Still, for those that have suffered family toxicity, the book is supportive and helpful.

These are just a few examples that are discussed in this book.Dr Sherrie takes her (unfortunate) experience to help provide clarity to the tough decisions that will bring peace to your family life. She’s done an excellent job describing the most common scenarios and different degrees of contact vs no contact.This is obviously a tough topic, however Dr Sherrie has written a clear, well thought out and actionable book.

It's crazy how a book can impact your life.. Growing up I was always confused about love. I would always ask myself "why doesn't anyone love me?" Reading this book as open my eyes on what love should be. I envy people who has a healthy family. Yes I know every family has drama and would fight with one another but this book points out the difference between a toxic family and a healthy family. For a couple years I've been reading many (I mean MANY) psychology books because I've wonder why I've always felt this way (not loved). Learning about emotions, spirit, body, and soul has changed the way I view EVERYTHING! I highly recommend this book to everyone. I will admit I cried while reading this book and it took probably weeks for me to finally finish. It was not because I lost interest but it had touch me in a way that I cannot explain. I've known defeat, suffering, struggles and would also say loss.. and after reading books after books trying to learn how I should control my emotions but instead I learned how to understand my emotions. I love being around others who have an understanding of life which fills them with compassion, gentleness, and just a deep loving concern for themselves and others around them. Before reading this book I disconnected certain family members in my life and yes at the beginning I felt like I was making a mistake. The thought of being alone scared me. This book has change the way i felt and the decision I made is for the better. Many would say or think "how selfish can you be to do that to your own family?" Is it selfish to love yourself and to protect yourself from those that put you down and make you feel so little? Does walking on egg shells around certain people love? Well if you walked in my shoes you will understand that it's not being selfish, it's about loving yourself. The love starts with you and after that the right people will stay in your life. 🧡

I love how enchanting this book is to read and I've recommended it to several others I know are struggling. I wish it had a more secular perspective but wasn't super religious at the same time.
